Movies, publications & newsletters
The following 2 part film was created by girls in Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington's Girl Scouts Beyond Bars program with the expertise and support of The Northwest Film Center. This film narrates the experiences and value of Girl Scouts Beyond Bars and Troop 40060.
The following publications and film modules were created by Girl Scouts USA, Independent Television Services, and three Girl Scouts Beyond Bars councils who helped write and pilot the 90 page curriculum. The films (Me Facing Life: Cyntoia's Story, and Girls on the Wall) were viewed in full length during a conference for all Girl Scouts Beyond Bars and Girl Scouting in Detention Centers staff. The vision was that the films would be broken down into shorter modules and curriculum developed around the content that was inclusive of the journeys It's Your Story-Tell It!. Girl Scouts USA sought the assistance of councils who were able and willing to write curriculum, pilot the content, and survey for outcomes. Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington had the privilege of participating with two other councils during this process. The links below are the finished product. Enjoy!
Below you will find two links. The first is our local brochure for Girl Scouts Beyond Bars. The second is the local curriculum containing policies and procedures and links to important forms that need to be completed by members of Girl Scouts Beyond Bars Troop 40060.
