Join us for the Before Your First Troop Meeting training pilot - an essential step for Troop Leaders in preparing to lead their new troop! This training is open to Troop Leaders who have started in the past 6 months and for those with currently forming troops.
- Plan and prepare for parent/caregiver meetings, the first few troop meetings, and group management.
- How to apply and use GSUSA and GSOSW policies, procedures, forms, and processes for safe and fun troop meetings.
- Learn how to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
- Understand and support progressive troop development, the girl/adult partnership, girl-led leadership, and progressive skill building.
- Connect with your local Girl Scout service team for ongoing support.
- Review training requirements and suggested timelines.

Participant Information
- Training will take place online via Zoom from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on November 7, 2024.
- A confirmation email with additional details and instructions for accessing the Zoom link will be sent a few days before the training.
- Participants need to be present for an entire course in order to recieve credit for the training. Late arrival participation will be evaluated by the trainer.
- Zoom training is best experienced on a computer, laptop, or tablet.
- On-camera participation and full engagement throughout the entire training are required for credit.
- GSOSW volunteer trainings are adult, member-only, and council-only, events.
Prerequisites
- Participants must have a Girl Scout membership for the current member year (2025).

- You are responsible for your own computer, laptop, or tablet and internet connection to join this virtual training.
Registration, Cancellation & Refund Information
- Registration closes on November 3 . Request for cancellation/refund must be submitted via email to answers@gsosw.org by this date.
- GSOSW reserves the right to cancel an event or training due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event or training non-viable. If GSOSW cancels an event or training, registrants will be notified.
