🐢 Eltrut is a magical creature who lives at Camp Arrowhead. They are an ancient grumpy turtle who enjoys basking in the sun next to a stack of books and a beat-up guitar. They are no ordinary turtle. Eltrut is a western pond turtle, an endangered species now rare in the Pacific Northwest. Nobody knows where exactly Eltrut came from; it’s been so long that even the reptile in question isn’t sure. Sometimes the staff at Camp Arrowhead will read stories about Eltrut to campers. Campers can also write Eltrut letters, and Eltrut will sometimes write back.
🐅 The Tajar is a magical animal that lives at camp. He can be found at Camp Arrowhead, for the Tajar lives in a camp, and around a camp, and over a camp, and under a camp, and through a camp. All the places that there were in a camp, he lives in. The Tajar looks a little something like a tiger and something like a jaguar and something like a badger, but he is different from all those animals. The Tajar is a very nice fellow. He is always willing to listen to a story, help carry firewood, or do anything you ask. But now and then something strange happens. When the moon is just right and the wind blows very slightly through the trees, the Tajar can become full of folly! There are many Tajar tales to be told, but they are usually told around a campfire. Campers can write to Tajar, and Tajar will sometimes write back to them.
