Open to Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Troops
Adventure is calling! Whether you're a seasoned explorer or a beginner, Outdoor Day 2025 has something for everyone. This exciting expo-style event is packed with fun activities and hands-on experiences for all ages. Enjoy guided nature walks, test your aim at the archery range, build outdoor skills and participate in fun outdoor activities led by our outdoor program partners.

Outdoor Day with your troop is the perfect chance to flex your travel skills and hang out with friends while doing something awesome. After the event, don't let the fun stop-take on a challenging hike, crush some troop goals, or hit up town for food, laughs, and a chill evening.

Registration

  • Girl Scout Member Registration: Select "Register Now" above to sign up for the Afternoon Session from 2pm - 5pm & overnight accommodation.
  • This is a Girl Scout activity for registered members only.

Overnight Details

  • Outdoor Day will be Saturday, May 3 and groups choosing to spend the night are required to attend the afternoon session from 2pm - 5pm.
  • The cost to stay overnight is $5 per person, plus the cost of the $15 per person for an Outdoor Day afternoon ticket for a total of $20 per person.
  • The overnight space will be shared with multiple troops and GSOSW staff will be onsite for setup and clean up of Outdoor Day.

Responsibilities of Troops

  • Adult volunteers are responsible for youth supervision and ratio, programming outside of Outdoor Day, food, bedding, and clean up of Mountaindale Lodge on Sunday morning.
  • Troops can arrive starting at 2pm when the session starts.
  • After the event, troops will have access to all of Marilyn's Place and are highly encouraged to eat offsite or bring ready to eat meals.
  • All spaces will be shared with other troops.
  • Troop check out is Sunday, May 4 at 10am.

Travel Progression

  • This opportunity is best suited for Girl Scout troops who have successfully participated in overnights and short day trips.
  • At least one adult must have completed either Girl Scouts Inside & Out Parts 1 & 2 and First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Please review ratio and overnight travel requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints to make sure your troop is ready for this experience and has appropriate required adult ratio for supervision.
  • Troops are responsible for thier own meals, bedding, activities, and clean up.
  • After purchasing tickets troops are responsible for submitting Troop Travel Notification form 119 at least 2 weeks before the event.

In order to apply your Girl Scout's Program Credits to the balance for an event registration, please select to pay with Program Credits during registration AND complete the GSOSW Events Program Credit Payment Form and be sure to read all form instructions before submitting. Our council can only accept Program Credit payments from GSOSW members.

Badge and/or Patch Information
Girl Scouts will receive a Outdoor Day fun patch.

Food
Troops are responsible for providing their own food. Troops will have access to shared kitchen and fridge space after the event ends but are highly encouraged to eat offsite and bring ready to eat meals.

Supplies
Troops are responsible for youth supervision and ratio, programming outside of Outdoor Day, food, bedding, and clean up of Marilyn's Place.

Adult Training Requirements
At least one adult must have completed Outdoor Skills Training AND either Girl Scouts Inside & Out Parts 1 & 2 OR Day Trips and Indoor Overnights Training. There are no adult training requirements for those chaperoning a single girl or Juliette.

Registration, Cancellation & Refund Information

  • Registration closes on April 20, 2025.
  • Request for cancellation/refund must be submitted via email to answers@gsosw.org by this date. A refund less the council administrative fee is available.
  • GSOSW reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If GSOSW cancels an event, registrants will be notified and offered a full refund.
