This course provides a foundation of First Aid principles and skills for individuals responding to remote emergencies when immediate emergency medical services are delayed or unavailable. This is a scenario-based class, and there will be a lot of hands-on skills practice. Participants must be physically able to move around in all-weather gear and lie on the ground as a simulated "victim" for up to 30 minutes. You will receive a Red Cross Certification for Wilderness and Remote First Aid (valid for two years) upon completion. This certification is required for Girl Scout activities when Emergency Medical Services are more than 30 minutes away and/or when cell service is limited.
