Olivia wanted to address the low representation of women in the trades by introducing girls in her high school to woodworking opportunities through a community project. She recruited and trained twenty girls on how to use her school’s equipment, and together, they designed and built signs for a local camp. Based on this experience, Olivia also created a website with information and resources for girls to explore the trades. Her high school’s manufacturing club has agreed to offer a similar program each year and maintain the website. Olivia's project was featured on KPTV Fox 12 Oregon.
