Gender Bias Awareness
Mackenzie | Portland, Oregon
To address the effect of gender bias on the educational atmosphere of her high school, Mackenzie developed and delivered a presentation to school staff on how to recognize and prevent gender bias. Similar information was shared with over 400 freshmen students. To sustain her efforts, Mackenzie created a website with resources and prevention strategies and secured a commitment from the school’s student government to continue the project.
Mackenzie is an Emerald Circle Scholarship recipient. Congratulations, Mackenzie!
