Gold Award Girl Scout Allison noticed that the bee population has been declining faster each year. This bee reduction is very concerning because bees maintain a major role in pollinating crops. She recruited members of the Southern Oregon Beekeepers Association to support her plan to ensure that more people would become beekeepers by teaching people about beekeeping, building hives, and catching swarms of honeybees for those hives. She started a 4H bee club at her school and brought beekeepers to the school to make presentations and help the club build five beehives at her school. She ensured club members knew how to continue caring for the bees so future students could learn about honeybees.
Gold Award Girl Scouts show remarkable dedication to improving their communities and the world.
